Starting Point

Three questions every SAP architect is asking right now.

SAP is investing strategically in n8n and integrating it natively into Joule Studio on the BTP. From Q3 2026, n8n becomes an official building block in the SAP stack. For your architecture, that means new possibilities – and new decisions.

n8n, CAP or Integration Suite?

Three tools that can do workflows – but with different scope, different target users, and different costs. Where do I use what?

Is this backed by SAP?

n8n was considered shadow IT. With SAP's investment and the Joule Studio integration, its compliance status is changing. But what exactly becomes official, and when?

How do AI agents plug in?

Joule, BTP services, S/4HANA objects – n8n becomes the workflow layer for agents. But what does a productive architecture look like, one that goes beyond the demo?

SAP + n8n

What happened.

USD 5.2bn

New valuation of n8n following SAP investment

  • SAP has taken a strategic stake in n8n. Valuation doubled to USD 5.2bn. Announced on 12 May 2026 at SAP Sapphire in Orlando.
  • n8n is being embedded as a Managed Environment natively in Joule Studio on the BTP. BTP credits are billed directly — no separate contract needed.
  • Native SAP connectors make it possible to connect AI agents directly to S/4HANA data via standard APIs, without additional ABAP development.
  • General Availability is announced for Q3 2026.

Workshop Agenda

One day. Four blocks. One clear decision.

No PowerPoint marathon, but architecture work on your concrete process. You bring a real use case – we build the decision matrix around it.

09:00

Situation Assessment

We guide you through — you describe what you know. No pre-built inventory needed, no experts required. A rough overview of your SAP landscape, current integrations and the pain points is fully sufficient.

10:30

Stack Classification

n8n vs. Integration Suite — an honest delineation. And where CAP remains the right choice as a development framework, rather than being misused as a workflow replacement. We show the architecture behind the SAP partnership and the native Joule Studio integration.

13:00

Live Architecture on Your Use Case

Your process (e.g. order release, pricing logic, supplier coordination) — we sketch the workflow layer live. AI agent, n8n orchestration, S/4 connection. Not a slide deck, but a working concept.

15:30

Decision Matrix & Roadmap

Documented result: which workflows via n8n, which via Integration Suite — and where CAP remains the right foundation as a development framework. Incl. recommendation for quick wins and sequence.

Your Outcomes

What you'll have in hand
after the workshop.

Not a generic slide deck, but four concrete artifacts tailored to your architecture.

1

Decision Matrix

n8n vs. Integration Suite – evaluated per scenario. And when CAP remains the better foundation as an app development framework. No ideology, just technical criteria.

2

Architecture Sketch

Your use case as a concrete workflow design: AI agent, orchestration, SAP connection. Ready to implement.

3

Quick-Win Roadmap

Prioritized sequence: which workflow should be automated first, and why.

4

Compliance Classification

SAP support status, licensing model, Joule Studio timeline – so your architecture board comes along.

Who it's for

Sales Director

You're looking for automation potential in the sales process – from quote creation to order release.

Digital Transformation Lead

You own the innovation roadmap and need a sound assessment before n8n goes GA in Q3 2026.
